Opeongo Store
Description
Lake Opeongo is Algonquin Park's largest lake and is serviced by the Opeongo Store, operated by Algonquin Outfitters, at the Lake Opeongo Access Point. The Lake Opeongo Access Point is one of the major gateways to Algonquin Park's backcountry.
The Opeongo Store located at the Access Point offers canoe and kayak rentals, complete outfitting, water taxi service, as well as an outstanding selection of camping supplies, clothing, footwear, souvenirs, snacks, groceries, and ice.
With the large size of Lake Opeongo, a water taxi service is available allowing backcountry canoe trippers to get a "head start" on their trip and eliminating the need to paddle Lake Opeongo. Canoeists can be delivered by water taxi to the main portages at the far end of the lake (with an option for round-trip service). Water taxi service can also drop you off at your favourite Lake Opeongo campsite.
Canoe and kayak rentals are available for the day and the lake offers a wide variety of scenic destinations. Several day trip packages are available, with guided and self-guided options.
The Opeongo Store is operated by Algonquin Outfitters under contract to Ontario Parks.
