Group Education ProgramThe Friends of Algonquin Park logo

The Friends of Algonquin Park, a Canadian registered charity, non-profit, and non-governmental organization established in 1983, is pleased to offer a variety of educational programs for school, youth, and adult groups that allow visitors to discover Algonquin Park's amazing natural and cultural history. Programs are delivered year-round by highly qualified Park Naturalists based out of our headquarters at the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre.

School and Youth Group Programs

Algonquin Park Group Education Programs for School and Youth Groups were developed as field trips for elementary and secondary students (K-12), their teachers, and college and university-aged participants.

These in-person outdoor and indoor programs allow students to explore and discover Algonquin Park's natural and cultural history with the help of Park Naturalists with The Friends of Algonquin Park. Expand your classroom into Ontario's oldest and most famous provincial park while experiencing hiking, snowshoeing, or canoeing.

Programs are available in half-day, full-day, and sleepover formats, with custom itineraries available. Extend your stay in Algonquin Park with our sleepover programs, which allow participants to engage in educational activities, have dinner in the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre, and sleep next to exhibits featuring a pack of wolves and other wildlife.

Programs are also suitable for Girl Guides (Sparks, Embers, Guides, Pathfinders, Ranger), Scouts (Beavers Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturers Scouts, Rovers Scouts), homeschooling, church, and other organized groups. Contact us and we will try to accommodate your specific audience and learning needs.

Bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Book early to avoid disappointment. See the school and youth group brochure for complete details, including program offerings, trip planning information, fees, and booking procedures.
